I’m bored in the house and in the house bored.

So I got to thinking about this years roster and I think offensively, the roster is fairly similar to the roster going into 2009. (Keep in mind this is of the perspective of the roster coming into 2009 not how good a player was when he had graduated/drafted in 2010/2011):
* notes starter

QB
Ryan Mallet
-vs-
Felipe Franks:

Both first year transfer QB’s from football powerhouses who were highly recruited. You could argue Felipe to this point has accomplished more

RB
-Michael Smith*/Dennis Johnson/Ronnie Wingo/Knile Davis/Broderick Green
- vs -
Rakeem Boyd*/Treylon Smith/Tj Hammonds/Amonte Spivey:

I looked back and crazy that no RB in 2009 had more than 500 yards rushing. 2009 vs 2020 I think you have to give the RB room to 2020 with Rakeem already being a 1000 yard rusher going into 2020

WR
Joe Adams*/Gregg Chids*/Jarius Wright*/Colby Hamilton
- vs -
Mike Wood*/Treylon Burks*/Trey Knox*/Shamar Nash/Darian Turner/Kendall Catalon:

I think this is where the two roster are interesting. The stars of the WR room for both classes are entering their 2nd year and the talent in 2020 has the capability to be just as good.

TE
DJ Williams*/Ben Cleveland/Van Stumon
- vs -
Hudson Henry*/Blake Kern/Blaine Toll:

I thought initially 2009 wins this but looking at the numbers, Ben Cleveland and Van Stumon only had 4 receptions total. So really it’s DJ vs Big Hud. I’m still going to give it to 2009 bc DJ has a year up on Hud as a Junior

OL
Ray Dominguez*/Mitch Petrus*/Seth Oxner*/Damascus Love*/Grant Cook/Wade Greyson
- vs -
Myron Cunningham*/Noah Gatlin/Luke Jones*/Ty Clary/Ricky Stromberg*/Shane Clenin/Dalton Wagner/Brady Latham:

I have no clue what the starting line will look like, and it’s obvious 2009 is better, HOWEVER I was completely surprised to see how few bodies the 2009 roster had on the line. With Pittman at the helm 2020 line could be a lot better than expected. Still it’s 2009

2009 Football team went 8-5 (7-5 regular season). That year TAMU was our non-conference opponent compared to Notre Dame. The SOS for the year was #7 so not to far off of this year. This is why based off of the offensive roster I think we have the chance at a 6-6 record and a 7 win season with a bowl win. Anyone want to do Defense?
