Quiet Period - No off-campus contact between a prospect and coach
Dead Period - No on- or off-campus contact between a prospect and coach (these terms do not apply to phone calls, and a coach can call a recruit once per week starting in September)
June 1 - July 31 - Quiet Period
Aug. 1 - Nov. 26 - Quiet Period
---except for 42 days for evaluation in September, October and November. Only one visit allowed to each prospect's school. Service academies get 54 days.
Nov. 27 - Jan. 28 - Contact Period
---assistant coaches may visit prospects six times but no more than once per week
Dec. 18 - Quiet Period for all JUCOs who plan to enroll midterm
Dec. 19-22 - Dead Period for JUCOs who plan to enroll midterm
---coaches may however have contact with those JUCO players if they have signed a National Letter of Intent or a financial aid agreement form and need to be on campus for orientation)
Dec. 23-Jan.8 - Quiet Period for all JUCOs who plan to be midterm enrollees
Dec. 18 - Quiet Period
Dec. 19-Jan. 3 - Dead Period
---except contact is allowed for midterm high school prospects who have signed and need to be on campus for orientation
Jan. 8 - Quiet Period
Jan. 9-12 - Dead Period
--- except for those who have signed and plan to enroll at midterm and need orientation
Jan. 29 - Quiet Period
Jan. 30 - Feb. 2 - Dead Period
Feb. 3 - April 14 - Quiet Period
April 15 - May 31 - Evaluation Period
---coaches are allowed 168 total evaluation days with each coach's day counting against the total. If the maximum of seven are on the road one day, that leaves 161 days - 216 for service academies - excluding Memorial Day and Sundays which are deemed quiet periods. With seven coaches out each day, they get 24 total days of evaluation
---The head coach may not go on the road to evaluate
---Coaches get to visit a school to see a prospect twice, once for evaluation of talent and once for evaluation of academics and talent
