This will be a hot topic over the next couple of months. There were some great things that happened over the last two months and the work continues. Here’s the pecking order for the starting lineup. I’ll take a stab at batting order a little later. Let me know what you think.
C: White-Rowland/Helfrick
1B: Wagner-McLaughlin-Robinette
2B: Stovall-Holt/Souza
3B: Jones-Holt
SS-Aloy-Souza
LF: Edmundson-Lovich-Grimes
CF: Wilmsmeyer-Edmudson
RF: Diggs-Lovich-Grimes
DH: McLaughlin/Helfrick
DVH stated he had 12 everyday players that are ready to go and can get after it. Riley and Lovich have been injured. Kade Smith and Ty Waid DH’d quite a bit with Smith still recovering from injury. Waid is likely to be a 1B and staff likes the swing and think he will hit.
Pitching Staff
Friday: Smith
Saturday: Molina
Sunday: Tygart/Dietz
I don’t see them going three lefties but Dietz made a name for himself this fall and will be a viable midweek option along wi th Gabe Gaeckle.
Bullpen
First out of the pen: McEntire, Wood, Bybee, Frank.
Freshmen to throw: Gaeckle, Dietz, McGuire, Cho and Fisher
Wildcards: Carter, Huskey, Foutch, Dossett
12 arms is a very good number to have to advance in postseason. I’ve always said if you can have three guys to go four games, you have a chance to hoist the big trophy.
I will have more along with Mason Choate as we get towards the holidays and get info on fall exit interviews. Enjoy!!
