The Arkansas football staff continued its busy month of June with another high school camp on Friday morning in Fayetteville.
Attending the camp was Friday was 2026 offensive lineman Bear McWhorter, who already holds offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Penn State, Tennessee and others.
The native of Cartersville, Georgia, was able to pick up some knowledge from one of the most well-respected coaches in the offensive line industry — Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman.
"It was good," McWhorter said of the camp. "I learned a lot, picked up a lot. Great getting some teaching from coach Pittman."
A 6-foot-4, 291-pound prospect, McWhorter's recruitment is still early, but he's frequented Fayetteville.
"I love it here," McWhorter said. "I think this is probably my sixth time back. I can't get enough of it. Every time I come up I learn something new about it and fall in love even more."
While it's early in the process, McWhorter added that he might make a commitment early — as in the spring of his sophomore year, which would be the spring of 2024. The offers have piled up and he has plenty of schools to choose from, but that wasn't always expected.
"The message from my dad was, 'Keep working. Keep getting better and everything will take care of itself,'" McWhorter said. "But I never saw all this coming."
Attending camps and learning from high-level coaches is only going to improve McWhorter's game moving forward. He said the main thing he's been working on is his footwork.
"I work on feet nearly almost every day," McWhorter said. "Keep getting stronger. Hand placement is a big one, but I'm working feet every day getting quicker doing what I need to do to get myself in the right position."
With other big-time programs in play, McWhorter added that it would be difficult to say no to Pittman and the Razorbacks.
McWhorter said he still has camps with Florida State, Alabama and Georgia left on his schedule.
Arkansas is set to hold one more one-day high school camp on Saturday in Fayetteville.
