Just a few things I haven't seen pointed out (maybe they were, who knows). HERE is a link to the highlight reel for quick reference to my points.
4:00mins -- Henre' Toliver with a huge pick. BUT am I the only one that was yelling at the TV bc of the way he sandbagged to the sideline? Maybe I missed something here, but why was he jogging and went right out of bounds? I get not wanting to fumble it away, but at least try to help with field position after the pick. Did he see the flag for the targeting call or something?
4:50 -- D Reed has been catching a lot of flak lately (deservingly so IMO) but you gotta give credit where it's due. He has come up in 1 BIG way against Ole Miss 2 years in a row -- FUMBLE RECOVERY. Some may not remember or noticed, but last year on the 4th and 25 play, Alex Collins fumbles at the end of that crazy run, and D Reed was luckily there to fall on the ball, giving us a shot to win the game. And then this year, Austin Allen loses the snap, it gets booted back about 30 yards, and who is there at the end to fall on it? D Reed. He may be lacking in some areas, but that kid has saved us against Ole Miss two years in a row. Underrated effort IMO.
7:15 -- Santos Ramirez is deservingly gaining a lot of praise for winning the game on a big hit, but it needs to be pointed out that the game-winner wasn't the only one. On a 3rd and 10 with 7mins left to go in the game, Ole Miss up 3 and driving, he makes another big hit on what would have been a 1st down catch that also dislodges the ball, forcing Ole Miss to punt. The ensuing drive would be our go-ahead and game-winning TD. If not for that hit, Ole Miss possibly goes up 10 points, giving us 4-6 mins left in the game to make a 10-point comeback. Huge play
And of course clutch, I mean clutch, catches on the game-winning drive by Keon Hatcher.
All around great team effort, supported by some incredible individual efforts when they were needed most. Beat Auburn
