I will start with 1-2 is still 1-2 no matter how many posts try defending it, it is what it is...

But i will try to show that there is still life in the program and its not all gloom and doom like many have said the last 2 weeks.

First off the idea that this is his 3rd year here so he should have his players in to run his system now. Ok but when he was hired he was against the clock to let half that class go and try and fill that class out with guys that fit his system and with a large majority of kids already shutting down there recruitment he was very limited on top level talent anyway.

Even so when you look at the 2 deep depth chart starting with offense 16 of the 22 are CBB's guys. With 7 FR 4 Soph 7 JR(5 of which are CBB recruits) and 4 SR. So exactly half of the 2 deep offense is under freshman. And besides our running game being questionable at times the offense hasnt been bad (Toledo it wasnt good) and passing game has improved drastically. With more time with the new OC and him getting to pick the next QB I think it is headed in the right direction.

Now the 2 deep DEF 16 of the 22 are CBB guys also with 6 of the 16 coming from the secondary, 4 from the D-line, and ALL 6 of the LB'ers and of the LB'ers 2 are JRs but one was a Juco so almost the entire LB corp is VERY young outside of Ellis. Now the secondary last year took its bumps while playing so many young guys but by the end of the year and all except the TT game is now the strength of the DEF. So give the LB corp some time and see if they learn like the Secondary did last year. By all accounts the D-line is by far the most experienced group but has yet to get a single sack on the season and only one starter is a CBB recruit but so far early in the season is are one bright spot on the line and thats Leadbetter.

Next year will be basically be a 100% CBB team so there will be no more excuses. This is just a little closer look at the fact we are still a young team that the fan base bought way to much hype in during the offseason and are now overreacting the opposite direction, truth is we arent in as bad of shape as it appears but we are still a long ways from where us fans want us to be. IMO recruiting needs to take a step up but not to be in the top 5 but land a couple more top level guys like Alex Collins and Denver Kirkland each class and have some for the defense also not just all on offense.
