The end is near for Rivals250 cornerback Jared Mayden.
It has been a long recruiting process for Mayden, but he took his final official visit to Oklahoma and he has released his decision plans.

For Mayden his two finalists just make the most sense.
“It really just made sense because I’ve visited those two schools. Plus the coaches, I really like both the coaching staffs,” Mayden said. “Coach Pruitt, I liked him when he was at Georgia, so it kind of made sense when he got the Alabama job. Also I like coach Cooks at OU and it makes sense because that’s the place both my parents went.”
Last week the Crimson Tide put its best foot forward as they hosted Mayden for an official visit, and this week it was Oklahoma’s turn.
The trip to Norman was not his first, but he was able to get a look at a few new developments for the Sooner program.
“What really stood out is I got to see the field and what they’re going to be doing to the stadium,” Mayden said. “So that really stood out to me.”
He was also able to see a few familiar faces.
“My host was Kahlil Haughton and I’ve known him for a good two years,” Mayden said. “I got to hang with A.D. Miller who went to my school and then transferred to Bishop Dunne. I got to hang out a lot with Prentice McKinney and we played in an all-star game together. “
The Sooners made his top two and put its best foot forward over the weekend. Now it is time to wait. Final word will come soon with Signing Day just around the corner.
