Among the drove of official visitors on campus over the weekend was Arkansas 2024 four-star quarterback commit KJ Jackson.
The Montgomery, Alabama, native was on campus with his sister, and he said he loved the chance to deepen his relationships with the players and staff.
"It was awesome,” Jackson said after the visit. “Getting up here and deepening my relationships with everybody. Bringing my sister up here for the first time and watching her fall in love with the city. It was just amazing. I love everything about it. I can't wait to be a football player here."
Jackson committed to Arkansas on April 9 over North Carolina and other schools. While in Fayetteville he had the chance to recruit some of the other prospects who were on campus as well.
“I know there's some linemen here we really wanted on board,” Jackson said. “A linebacker from my home state. Would be a shame if I can‘t get him."
As a junior for St. James Academy, Jackson helped lead his team to a 13-2 record with a 3A State Championship win over Piedmont High School. He threw for 2,813 yards, finding the end zone 42 times. He also added six scores on the ground on 77 carries for 171 yards.
The left-handed quarterback said having a leadership role with the recruiting class is something he loves.
“I love talking to guys and seeing where all they have been,” Jackson said. ”No matter where they've been, I tell them Arkansas is a better place because it truly is. The family atmosphere here. Coach Pittman will take care of everybody and all the position coaches they love all their players and want them all to succeed."
Arkansas has three commitments from the state of Alabama in the class of 2024 in four-star defensive end Kavion Henderson and three-star defensive back Tevis Metcalf in addition to Jackson.
