Just doing a message board post for today. It was their last open practice ahead of Saturday's Red-White Spring Game, which will begin at noon CT on SEC Network+ at Reynolds Razorback Stadium. They will do a walkthrough tomorrow, but it will be closed.

The Hogs were in shells and shorts and they spent most of the practice inside the Walker Pavilion, although they went outside twice for special teams work.

Getting some guys back

It was good to see cornerback Jaheim Singletary (undisclosed) back on the field and in team drills with a green jersey on. Defensive tackle Ian Geffrard was also back after dealing with a hamstring issue. Wide receiver Davion Dozier was in a sling with a cast on his left arm/hand after injuring it in Tuesday's practice. It seems like they should be pretty healthy for Saturday, aside from long-term injuries to Dozier, Marquise Robinson (undisclosed), Zuri Madison (torn ACL), Dylan Hasz (hand) and any others I might be forgetting.

Five major points of embracing the Hog

At the end of practice, head coach Sam Pittman grabbed a microphone and brought some of what I believe was the academics support staff to involve them on the five major points of embracing the Hog that the team has instilled. Those five points are: tough, together, consistent, accountable, pride.

Var'keyes Gumms

Gumms might be the most improved player on the team from what I've seen in the spring. The former North Texas tight end transfer has been a receptions machine this spring, and he made some big catches over the middle of the field Thursday, plus he made a one-handed catch on a throw from Jacolby Criswell during team drills.

Notable Plays

- Malachi Singleton was off to the races on a QB keeper with the second team offense that he took at least 55-60 yards for a touchdown. The very next play, Singleton scrambled and put a juke move on to make two linebackers collied into each other.

- Freshman corner Jaden Allen had an interception off Austin Ledbetter during 7-on-7 drills.

- Running back Dominique Johnson had maybe the play of the day on a tough catch to make over linebacker Alex Sanford. Maybe they'll post video of it.

- Defensive end Nico Davillier had a sack against Taylen Green in 11-on-11 drills.

- Freshman corner Selman Bridges made a very impressive recovery and pass breakup in coverage against Andrew Armstrong during 7-on-7s. Bridges also had a PBU later against Singleton on with the second team defense in team drills.

- Running backs Ja'Quinden Jackson and Isaiah Augustave both had touchdowns in the low red zone portion of 11-on-11 drills.

- Braylen Russell cut a run outside during team drills and he was like a freight train rolling down the sideline. I think he would've scored a touchdown if it was in a game.

- Jacolby Criswell threw a really nice over the shoulder pass to tight end Shamar Easter.
