The Arkansas baseball program will host a First-Team All-Conference junior college infielder early next week, as HawgBeat can confirm that Yavapai College first baseman Riley Nelson will be on campus Monday for a visit.

A product of Byron Nelson High School out of Texas, Nelson slashed .412/.495/.788 with 70 hits, two triples, 13 home runs and 55 RBIs across 54 games during the 2024 season.

In 170 at-bats, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound left-hander walked in 29 plate appearances and struck out just 12 times. Nelson also stole just one base. Defensively, Nelson made just one error in 311 total chances this season for a fielding percentage of .997.

Nelson is currently competing in the MLB Draft League, where he's racked up a .296 batting average with eight RBIs in 22 games for the Williamsport Crosscutters. The soon-to-be junior and native of Canada has some positional versatility, as he's played some third base throughout his career alongside first base.

As things stand, Arkansas already has transfer commitments from BYU's Kuhio Aloy, FGCU's Charles Davalan, Milwaukee's Carson Hansen, TCU's Logan Maxwell, Georgia State's Maximus Martin, Ohio State's Landon Beidelschies, Fresno State's Rocco Peppi, Oregon State's, Aiden Jimenez, Lincoln Memorial's Carson Boles, Rhode Island's Michael Anderson and East Carolina's Zach Root.
