The No. 4 Arkansas Razorbacks (9-1, 0-0 SEC) will look to complete the series sweep Sunday against the Charlotte 49ers (4-5, 0-0 AAC) at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville.

Arkansas clinched the series Saturday with an 8-5 win over Charlotte thanks to seventh inning RBI knocks from Brent Iredale and Kuhio Aloy. The Razorbacks overcame an 8-1 deficit Friday with a 10-run bottom of the fourth inning to earn an 11-10 win over the 49ers.

“I think they’ve done a great job,” Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn said postgame Saturday. “I think they had a really good plan last night, or yesterday, against us. Today was kind of the same plan. They know that our pitchers throw strikes and they’re around the zone a lot, so they were up there swinging early and swinging hard. I think they’ve had a real good approach and a real good plan.

“You look at their 2, 3, 4 and 5-hole hitters, they all have a lot of power. You watch them take pregame batting practice, they’re launching balls. And again, it’s another very old team. They start, I think, five seniors. Maybe a junior or two and a couple sophomores. Experienced kids. Twenty-two, 23 years-old, they’re strong. They’re not intimidated. They’ve played us well.”

Ohio State transfer left-hander Landon Beidelschies will get the start on the mound for Arkansas on Sunday. Right-handed junior Gage Wood started the Sunday game against Michigan last weekend, but suffered a shoulder injury that will keep him out for the foreseeable future.

Beidelschies gave up just one hit and no runs with one walk in 2.2 innings of relief Feb. 22 against TCU. His first outing of the year was a start against Washington State on Feb. 17, when he gave up just one earned run on four hits in 5.0 innings pitched.
