all about expectations. a 2nd loss ends their championship hopes. when considering all the 1loss teams from the big10, pac12 and if baylor loses? add the big12 too. alabama knows they must, must, must win this game.
usually a scary thought, a bama team with it's back to the wall. top talent recruited to a power run team with a pro set, pocket passer....but wait???
bama has a new offensive coordinator, is running a an qb option attack using a converted rb as it's mobile qb, so technically he's a frshman or newbie(the sec isn't very kind to 1st year starting qb's, are they?) ball control and power run game no more, bama is now committed to run an uptempo offense, calling audibles at the line, ala no huddle. to revert back to a power run, pocket passing or wild cat attack would be disastrous on the road. going from uptempo? would spell no tempo and here's why!!
injuries at key positions!!! starters at key positions being replaced with backups at a sec road game? loud, hostile crowd? and losing your top line backer when facing a power run team??? someone has to step up and that's usually a safety or linebacker. can the hogs pass? yes they can. now consider a new center and running back? the old bama offense not a prob, uptempo timing offense, snaps under center, pistol and shotgun??? bama has great players but, were they recruited for this style of play? no, can athlete's overcome adversity? yes, but what's more likely to happen over achieving or under? players trying to hard make mistakes. they have a great wr, but can he catch passes that sail? no, but he'll try his best as his team's best player to get a hand on it. tipped balls lead to interceptions. but there's one more factor to consider for a hog win and thats...
