  • Bielema said he's excited to play in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and expects a favorable crowd with the proximity. He also spoke about his admiration with Bill Snyder.
  • Bielema said Snyder is relentless with his approach to a bowl game, and they expect to get K-State's best shot.
  • Bielema said he put them out for practice on Friday, Saturday and today and it showed why they needed to practice as they were a little rusty looking.
  • They'll have a bye week approach to it, going full on K-State two weeks out. He also said it'll give them some time to get recovered from injuries.
  • He said Jonathan Williams got some good information and had a really good week last week and will turn his focus to the NFL. Williams won't play in the bowl game in an active role. Keon Hatcher still had a fracture line upon last look.
  • Bielema said he doesn't know exactly how it works with which bowl they will go to, but it's not like they say 'hey, you're up,' where do you want to go?
  • Bielema said he doesn't want the game to be about him and Snyder, he wants to be about the players. Bielema said he usually calls Snyder before the start of the season, and he also called Snyder when they were in a 'rough' stretch earlier in the season and took some notes from him on that.
  • Bielema said every day in his box he gets written notes from his coaches regarding what they're doing in meetings outlined for him, which is something he took from Snyder.
  • Barry Alvarez and Bob Stoops told Bielema he should take the Kansas State co-defensive coordinator position. He was offered the job but considered staying at his alma mater, and they talked him into branching out.
  • Bielema said Michael Smith is excited about playing his alma mater, but they're also 'scared of that man.'
  • Bielema said he was a long way away from home and Snyder took him under his wing and s
  • Kirby Smart called Bret Bielema early this morning and asked for permission to speak to Enos, and Bielema said 'sure,' but pointed to Enos' non-compete.
  • Arkansas will have 17 practices, 9 of which will be focused solely on Kansas State.
  • Bielema said he spoke with Jeff Long early on about what he thought he might hear on Enos this time of year, and now Enos' name has popped up here and there.
  • Bielema said Texas Tech was one of eight teams tossed at him as a team that's schedule matched up with Arkansas in terms of setting up a home-and-home down the road (after the Michigan series).
