- Bielema opened his call discussing the Auburn game and winning in four overtimes. He then discussed Rawleigh Williams' injury situation and said he won't be here this season, but all indications are that he will be in the future. He also spoke about Minnesota coach Jerry Kill who resigned today. He called Kill a longtime friend.
- Bielema said almost the entire roster are in speed flex helmets because it's the most efficient, safest helmet out there. There are a couple players who still prefer the old style.
- The head Hog coach pointed to non-conference opponents that have beaten them already this season, so they have to approach this game just like they would any week. He said UT-Martin as a program has shown they're capable of knocking off FBS teams.
- Bielema was asked about playing in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, he said even though it takes a home game away from the home stadium, the recruiting implications (going out early in Texas and being able to guarantee a recruit a game in Texas ever year) and being able to play in that venue makes it worth the while.
- Bielema said it was very rewarding to get the win they way they did against Auburn. He said there were two plays that if the call was different it would have ended in regulation, but it was great to see Brandon Allen perform the way he did in overtime.
- Regarding cutting back on practice time after midseason, Bielema said they shaved about 4 or 5 minutes off Tuesday, and today they will shave off maybe two periods (10 minutes). Last week they were able to shorten practices all week due to also being able to prepare for Auburn with the bye week.
- Bielema said they have a mandatory policy on class attendance that prevents him from being on the field. He said it's university policy. He also pointed to Kendrick Edwards as a player who has to learn this, as well, and seemed to indicate he may have had a recent issue also.
- Bielema said Jared Cornelius looks as fast as he ever has. He said Keon Hatcher and Cody Hollister are starting to get out there and run around a little. If Hollister reaches a point this season where he can play, they will play him because he has no redshirt, but Hatcher has the option to use a redshirt this season.
