I’m sure several posters on this board are getting tired of seeing TJ Hammonds tough the ball because we go straight backwards every time he gets a play, but if you have actually watched the plays he’s gotten the ball this season (I’ve counted like 6 or 7), every time we call a play for him, we miss several blocks and he’s having to make people miss several years behind the LOS. He hasn’t had the ball in space a single time. Whether it’s poor play design, or we should be calling an audible out of his jet sweep plays due to the defensive alignment, our blockers simply aren’t giving him anything to work with.

I wish we would get a slip screen for him like we did with Trelon Smith yesterday. We know TJ Hammonds is a problem in space. We just have to actually get it to him in space. Just getting it to him on a sweep when he’s running directly into 2 defenders as soon as the ball is in his hands isn’t helping and it’s not doing him justice for what he can do for this team
