Also just read that Ole Miss (?) is the only university in the US that can legally grow research grade marijuana. Supposedly our president is lifting that sanction much to the shagrin of students at the grove but many more universities will be able to grow and analyze its medicinal benefits, which I think is great.

Rather than demonize lighting a plant on fire, let's put our best scientists on it and see what's up.

As long as the Federal government keeps letting the states legalize it and they don't harass the legitimate shops ,it actually might be better for the marijuana businesses for the government to keep it classified as such.

Yeah but its not better for people that could use it for medicine. Im not talking about pot smokers. Im talking about the millions that take pills to chill out or people that have cancer and need to eat or epileptic kids that need it to stop seizures. Or like my case, have cronic back pain and glaucoma. So many people could use it and get off a bunch of drugs that are killing them. Big Pharma, alcohol, and tobacco keeping it down as best and as long as they can. The definition of political corruptness.

Your preaching to the choir. I read an article yesterday about how much beurocratic crap these businesses will have to go through if it's reclassified.
My opinion: all Ganga should have been legalized yesterday, taxed and state controlled. it's absurd people go to jail for it etc etc.

Big Pharma wins again.
Sad when an AP story doesn't know the difference between Missouri and Mississippi . . . SMH . . .

To the bigger point, it's totally shameful how politicians bend over and/or orally pleasure the big pharma machine. When you know the story of how and why cannabis was placed on the Schedule 1 list, and the personal agendas that have kept it there, it's one of the darkest stories in American history, in light of the very positive effects it has for literally 10's of millions of Americans.

And, this is coming from a 60-something white male who HAS NEVER SMOKED THE STUFF! Like any other person, I have my good and bad points - I'm no saint. I'm just saying, I don't have a reason to want it legalized for ME; it's just knowing how many people have been affected and have to be without and/or move their entire family - or LEAVE their family just to have access and not be thrown in jail . . . as well as the thousands IN jail for simply personal use . . . it's tragic.
