Can someone who thinks this is an acceptable position for the Republican party please explain how it is legitimate.

Im going to be honest. I don't keep up much so your not going to get a politically knowledgeable answer from me but I think anyone who is willing to say enough is enough is on the right track.

We all understand that the debt ceiling is simy authorization for the treasury to pay bills that have already been incurred right.

It should also be said that discretionary spending... Federal spending excluding social security Medicare is at it's lowest level since the Eisenhower administration.

You'll get no argument from me there, the problem is that Obama Care is the only serious attempt that has been made since the Clinton Administration to deal with the issue. And Ill say again, all these things would be better if moderate republicans were inside the tent pissing out instead of outside tent pissing in.

Im a deficit hawk, but the idea of not raising the debt ceiling was crazy. I don't belittle people that don't understand the ends and outs of macroeconomics, the stuff is complicated, but a US default would crash the world economy. The fact that it was used as a bargaining chip is pretty disgraceful.

The last Prez election was all about Obama Care. Obama won hands down on this issue so why would he or the Democrats negotiate? The fact is Sen Cruz and the far right do not have the votes to alter this law so at the last minute they hold the Nation hostage to try to get their way. Now THAT is ridiculous!
