4 rounds of the 2016 NFL Draft ... courtesy of Chad Reuter, draft analyst ...
* Round 2, overall pick No. 35 (4th pick of round 2), the San Diego Chargers select Arkansas TE Hunter Henry ... 1st TE selected ... 11th player drafted from the SEC.
* Round 2, overall pick No. 48 (midway thru round 2), the Indianapolis Colts select Arkansas RB Alex Collins ... 3rd RB selected ... 13th player drafted from the SEC.
* Round 4, overall pick No. 104 (9th pick of round 4), the Tampa Bay Bucs select Arkansas RB Jonathan Williams ... 6th RB selected ... 27th player drafted from the SEC.
* Round 4, overall pick No. 105 (10th pick of round 4), the New York Giants select Arkansas OT Denver Kirkland ... 12th OT selected ... 28th player drafted from the SEC.
* Round 4, overall pick No. 118 (23rd pick of round 4), the Minnesota Vikings select Arkansas OG Sebastian Tretola ... 8th OG selected ... 30th player drafted from the SEC.
Obviously, this is one guy's guess before the completion of Senior Bowl week, before the combine, before pro days, and before individual workouts -- and we're still 3 months away from the draft -- but if he is close, that means the Hogs had 5 of the best 30 SEC players eligible for the NFL Draft.
There were some notable picks that stood out to me, such as Dallas taking NDSU QB Carson Wentz with the 4th overall pick, and taking Bama RB Derrick Henry in the 2nd round with the 34th pick (one spot ahead of HH at 35) ... one notable / glaring omission is LaTech RB Kenneth Dixon, he's been getting rave reviews at the Senior Bowl practices, and he was already considered a Top 5 RB prior to that, yet he's left off this 4-round mock draft.
Two OM players taken in the top 7 picks representing the first 2 SEC players selected (no surprise here, Tunsil at No. 1 and Treadwell at No. 7), 3 Bama defenders in the 1st round, 9 SEC players total in the 1st round, 3 QBs taken in the top 15 picks (Goff at 2, Wentz at 4, Lynch at 15), 1 RB taken in the 1st round (Elliott at No. 22), and 6 Ohio State players total taken in the 1st round.
