JLP's thread with the pictures reminded me I never posted about this event.
No earth shattering news, but it was a very good time and for a great cause. I have a dear friend who is a breast cancer survivor and we took about ten friends, most of whom are only casual Hog fans. But they all left very impressed with the staff, the facilities and excited about the upcoming season.
I can't get over how great Coach B is. He is such a regular guy, but with such an infectious personality.
I had a nice conversation with Coach Pittman. I can see why he is a great recruiter. He asked me questions about myself and my family, and acted like all he wanted to do was talk to me.
I mentioned something about how long he would be around, and he said "Jamie and I love it here. We feel like we're finally home."
I have a pretty good BS detector, and it never went off talking to any of these coaches. There is truly a special feeling you get being around them, and they really do seem to be a family.
Talked to Dan Enos for a minute (he is one good-looking man). I asked him about screen plays. He said "You want screens, baby? Oh, yeah, I got screens, I got lotsa screens."
Robb Smith looks more like someone who would work as a Google engineer than a football coach.
The consensus favorite among our group was Coach Herb. The dude makes sixty-year-old women want to put on pads and smash somebody.
It was a great night, and I would encourage everyone to get "the wimmen" there next year.
(Oh, the players lounge - not to my taste but I would think those young kids like it a lot. Pool table, video games, big screen TV, etc.)
