I started following KPI Sports this year as a means for better measuring how we stack up against other teams, and how we project to the NCAAT. I quickly liked their model. They put out a good report today showing the correlation between their and other respected party (KenPom, RPI, ESPN BPI, Sagarin) rankings and how the NCAA selected and slotted teams into the NCAAT.
While I like the intent of ESPN's BPI, if you want to use it for projection to the NCAAT, be very careful. It's the least accurate of the rating services Iisted above. KPI and KenPom had the best success with who made the tourney while KPI really stood alone with it came to how the teams were seeded.
