* Darren McFadden, Dallas Cowboys ... played in only 2 series (1 in the 2nd Q, 1 in the 4th Q) for the Cowboys as their 3rd back ... had 6 carries for 16 yards and 1 reception for 19 yards. The 'Boys overcame mental mistakes to pull out a come-from-behind, 27-26 win on a Tony Romo pass to Jason Witten with :07 left in the game. All the talk of RB committee was just a smokescreen as Dallas gave the ball 19 times to Joseph Randle, and 8 more to Lance Dunbar -- with those two splitting up 9 of Dallas' 11 offensive series, and DMAC getting the other 2.

* Ryan Mallett, Houston Texans ... after watching starting QB Brian Hoyer struggle with 2 turnovers that directly led to 2 easy Kansas City TDs, RM finally got his chance midway through the 4th quarter with his Texans trailing 27-9. Mallett promptly led 2 scoring drives, bringing Houston to within a TD, 27-20, with just 1:23 remaining in the game. KC recovered the on-side kick and ran out the clock. Still, RM outplayed Hoyer, finishing 8 of 13 for 98 yards, 1 TD, a QBR of 110.4, and a rush for 6 yards.

IMO, RM is the better QB, especially with play-making RB Arian Foster out for at least 4 more weeks while recovering from groin surgery.

* Knile Davis, Kansas City Chiefs ... Knile had some important plays in the first half when the Chiefs effectively put the game away. He had a nice 12-yard catch-and-run on a screen pass on 3rd-and-20 from the Houston 42-yard-line, breaking a tackle to pick up 5 more yards and setting the Chiefs up for a 48-yard FG on 4th and 8 from the Texans' 30 and kick.

Knile finished with 6 carries for 16 yards, 1 reception for 12 yards, and 1 KR for 30 yards to help KC to a 27-20 win over Houston.

* Zach Hocker, New Orleans Saints ... What an NFL debut for Zach ... he drilled 4 of 4 FGs (long of 45) and 1 of 1 PATs for 13 points, which currently places him 2nd in the NFL in kicker scoring ... unfortunately, it was not enough as the Saints fell to the Cards on the road, 31-19.

* Jarius Wright, Minnnesota Vikings ... Jarius just signed a nice contract extension with $7 million guaranteed, and his Vikings travel to face the 49ers in the late game in ESPN's Monday Night Football doubleheader.

* Chris Smith, Jacksonville Jaguars ... Chris started and recorded 4 tackles (all solo), including a tackle-for-loss and he also was credited with defending a pass ... the Jags lost, 20-9, to Carolina.

* Darius Philon, San Diego Chargers ... Darius played off the bench in sub packages in his NFL debut, recording 1 of the 3 QB hits for the Chargers, but he had no tackles in their 33-28 home win over the Lions.

* Martrell Spaight, Washington Redskins ... Martrell recorded 1 tackle (solo) in Washington's 17-10 loss against Miami.

* Trey Flowers, New England Patriots ... Not sure if he played today, but Trey did not record any stats in the Pats' 28-21 home win against the Steelers on Thursday night.

* Chris Gragg, Buffalo Bills ... Not sure if he played today, but Chris did not record any stats an ZERO targets in Buffalo's 27-14 win over Indianapolis.

* Alvin Bailey, Seattle Seahawks ... Not sure if he played today, but Alvin's Seattle Seahawks lost to the Rams in OT, 34-31, in St. Louis.

* Jason Peters, Philadelphia Eagles ... The multiple all-pro left tackle and his Eagles take on the Falcons in the first game of ESPN's Monday Night Football doubleheader.

* Travis Swanson, Detroit Lions ... started at C for the Lions, who lost 33-28 against the Chargers in San Diego today.

* Brett Goode, Green Bay Packers ... long-snapped the shite out of the ball for the Packers today, who defeated the Bears, 31-23.
