Four Arkansas football players have earned Preseason All-SEC accolades, as edge rusher Landon Jackson, wide receivers Isaiah Sategna and Andrew Armstrong and offensive lineman Joshua Braun were recognized by Phil Steele on Tuesday.
Jackson and Sategna led the way for the Hogs as second team selections at defensive end and punt returner, respectively. Braun landed himself on the third team as an offensive guard and Armstrong garnered fourth-team recognition at wide receiver.
As a junior in 2023, Jackson made his name known around the SEC with 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. During the Oct. 14 game at Alabama, Jackson had a career-best 3.5 sacks and 11 tackles.
The league's coaches named Sategna a Freshman All-SEC return specialists last year after he returned 23 kicks for 500 yards and 15 punts for 180 yards and one touchdown as a redshirt freshman. He also caught 15 passed for 129 yards and two touchdowns, and he will look to build on those numbers with first-year offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino calling the offense.
Braun transferred in from Florida prior to last season, and he had a good individual season on a bad offensive line in 2023. He was named Second Team All-SEC by the Associated Press after grading out with a 70.7 overall grade on 790 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
Another receiver looking to improve his game under Petrino is Armstrong, who led the team with 56 catches for 764 yards and five scores as a transfer from Texas A&M-Commerce last season.
