Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman has already recruited the state of Alabama more than any other Razorback coach in the Rivals rankings era, which stretches back as far as 2002. He's already locked up three commitments, and he's looking to grow in that area.

Another Alabama linebacker, 2024 four-star linebacker Bradley Shaw of Hoover, Alabama, was on hand for an official visit to Arkansas this last weekend, and he had good things to say about his time, specifically with the coaches.

"It was amazing to finally get up and see the place, talk to Coach T-Will, Coach Pittman, it was nice," Shaw said.

The highlight of the weekend for Shaw was getting to talk to Pittman, even if football wasn't the topic of conversation.

"It was just a regular conversation, just talking to us like a regular person," Shaw said. "Not talking football, just getting to know us, our parents and family members. That's really big."

Shaw said Arkansas is firmly in the "top" mix of schools for his commitment, along with Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi State. The 32nd-ranked linebacker in the nation has taken four visits to Alabama, three to Auburn and three to Mississippi State.

In addition to Arkansas, Shaw has taken an official visit to Notre Dame. He holds offers from Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and others in addition to the Razorbacks.

Shaw said he has plans to take officials to Auburn and Alabama after his trip to Arkansas.

Continuity between college and high school would likely help his development at the next level. Shaw said he sat down with defensive coordinator Travis Williams and they watched tape to see how he would be used at Arkansas.

"It's the same stuff I'm doing in high school," Shaw said. "I'd be doing the same thing here, so it'd be a smooth transition. They run the same defense we run in high school, so it'd be easy."

Shaw said he'll make his final decision after he takes all of his official visits.
