Was thinking about all the cuts that schools have made to athletic programs, coaches taking furloughs/paycuts, etc. and all of those were made with the assumption that 2020 CFB season would 110% happen. Now we are looking at the possibility of no football season/fall sports.
Curious to people's thoughts about weathering a storm of ZERO college football, from a financial standpoint, and how it will impact universities.
We will obviously see more programs cut from school's athletic teams, but do we reach a point where a college football program(s) (maybe some that have been in the red on normal years) get shut down? Will we see a bunch of UAB's? Will there be schools with just mens hoops and football left at the end of this?
Obviously there are a million ways this works out, but even if we do have a season, schools are going to lose out on tons of money due to attendance restrictions alone.
Thots?
