Anyone read Richard Davenport's article in the ADG today? Apparently, Dr. Fitz Hill (our former football Recruiting Coordinator under Houston Nutt) has a son in the 9th grade that is a big up and comer point guard here in central Arkansas (Little Rock Christian). If you read the article, it sounds as if the University of Arkansas (as well as others) is already interested in the young Hill - and the feeling is mutual. Fitz sounds like CMA's biggest endorser. The article also points out that there is a lot of young talent coming up in the ranks for the classes of 2017-2019.
I think the 2016-2017 season is crucial for CMA. If he can get through this season (he seems to be doing better than some expected) and then right the ship for 2017, there should be enough young talent within the state to help take the program to another level. IF he can do that, then the KeVaughn Allens and the Malik Monks of the state just might become more of a rarity than a common occurrence.
However, if CMA cannot right the ship in 2017, then the in-state talent will keep venturing away and CMA's job security will be in serious jeopardy - much to the delight of his detractors. The 2017 season is simply pivotal. The program will head one way or the other, based on its results.
