Went to Kansas, almost got blown away and washed away, but saw two games and got back here at just before 4 a.m. this morning. Here is a little bit of what I saw. The Coffeyville game ended up starting at 9:30 instead of 7 so it ended after midnight.
Independence-- Allen Bell, CB, he is 6-2 and the real deal.In his first JC game after redshirting, he had a pick and returned it 35 yards and had 2 kickoff returns for a 55.0 average. The kid went up there on track scholarship, needs to be offered by Hogs today.. Kevin Hubbard, DE, Placed at Indy by UA. Very good player who needs to get more aggressive, but in his defense he suffered a mild concussion in 1H and that was maybe why he wasn't as aggressive as I would like. Still, made al ot of plays.
Cisco-- Jocques Crawford, RB, Memphis, kid who wanted to come to Arkansas, but got in trouble with girl and signed with Texas Tech,. Didn't qualify and is at Cisco, very good player who will go back to Texas Tech.
Blinn-- Great team who went into Coffeyville and won 16-7 and that doesnt' happen often. DE Alex Cook really likes Arkansas. I had said Bobby Allen was recrutiing him but actually it is Alex Wood. Cook has 4.4 or so speed, but man he isn't very big, 6-3, 220. Herring has schemes though where he would excel at pass rushing and that is this kid's strength. Former FS Gremon Coffman of Duncanville, 6-0,220, was best player on field last night
Coffeyvillle-- Gary Chandler. FS. First team AA and easy to see why. The kid can play and really likes UA. Coffeyville has 2 great LBers and a very good QB who transferrred in from Wisconsin.
