Bielema is going to see this young man at 10 this morning and I think Putu will be in Fayetteville this evening. I hope we get him and hope he gets to spend the summer on the Hill.
....It should be a good situation for him. No pressure to be an instant starter yet plenty of playing time as he progresses.
Now as far as recruiting of DBs........I can not imagine the pressure Brandon Jones is under. Sumlin brought five of his assistants to Jones house yesterday (scurvy looking bunch, looked like hit men), Strong and the Hornys are all over him (Cuffee is his wingman) and now you go to Baylor for a final big push from them.
I sure hope his mom liked us enough to help him come play with Whaley, Agim and??? ")
About Jones.....I wonder if there is any way you could show him that he would have a better chance of staying healthy if he played where they don't have such spread like offenses (3 Texas schools I mentioned) because IF we can, we will keep our defense on the sidelines more than most offenses.
I may be off here but at times we control the ball so long that we rest our defense more than most. I would sell that to him. Of course if we were to get a Cleveland at WR to go with a Whaley.....it may be hard for us to have long drives....these dudes can score quick from anywhere on the field
Other DB options;
Fulton would be so happy at Arkansas It would be hell for his dad for him not to go to LSU but I would not let my son play at Arkansas if Holtz or Petrino were the head coach so you put your kid above the team you support. I don't know who all KF is close to on the LSU team but Agim, Whaley, Tolliver, Eugene and the Louisiana gang are ONLY found at the UofA.
If we don't get insane lucky and get Jones or Fulton then I would be thrilled to get Alexander (if he wound up at CB) and would be happy with the safety Smith if they think he is a player.
