It's August 3 and the Hogs' 2021 class is just six spots away from being full. It's like a dream! There are still 91 guys with offers left undecided out of the 282 total offered. Arkansas is ranked No.26 right now but if Cameron Little had his 5.5 rating, they'd be 22nd. That'll probably change daily right now because there are a lot of teams close behind Arkansas that have fewer commitments.
I said it in the Bryce Stephens commitment thread but his sudden decision was a bit of a surprise. I could tell he was paying attention to Arkansas recruiting more as they kept picking off his fellow ranked in-state classmates but I didn't see a decision coming soon. Some had him trending to Oklahoma State but I think that was mostly guessing for the homestate team. Even though he doesn't have an offer from the Sooners, plenty of schools were still trying to buy some stock in Stephens like A&M offering at the end of June. I know they were waiting on KeTron but that's still so much of a toss up, I don't think you can pass on another guy that was on your board who's a sure thing. Jackson wants to decide within the new month I think and Texas is surging.
Louisiana RB Logan Diggs came off the board this week, as did Butler CC lineman Caleb Etienne who cut his list down to six (details on the big board).
Indy CC DB Kamal Hadden is either cutting a list or making a decision on Tuesday but I don't think it's Arkansas if he's committing somewhere.
Michigan safety/CB Maxwell Hairston is cutting his top 7 on Thursday. He was trending towards Kansas but now has several FutureCast picks in to Kentucky and it sounds like that's what'll stick.
I added Louisiana 6-foot-4, 285-pound defensive end Jerrell Boykins to the board. The Hogs aren't offering a bunch of kids every week any more so I assume any prospect offered right now jumps up the board. I know this is tough but he's Boykins while Andy is just Boykin.* He's 285 but he carries the weight really well on his frame.
Spots Left:
WR - 1 (maybe) If Arkansas takes another WR I think they'll either be limited to taking just one more OL or DL
TE - 1
OL - 1-2
DL - 1-2
DB - 1
