According to Rivals rankings we landed at 25 in the team rankings. But when have you heard this many FR names being mentioned on a regular basis? Especially, with the amount of returners we have coming back? This list wont even include the guys that were highly rated and expected to play/start, such as Froholdt, Ledbetter, CJ, Gragg, Reed, and Cantrell.
Ryan Pulley: 3 star, offers of note: Indiana, Mich St, AZ. This kid continues to impress on a daily basis and has all but cemented himself as a backup.
Dre Greenlaw: 3 star, offers: Ga (very late in process) Memphis, OK St., Tulsa. Guy is doing what it takes to assume a spot in a much needed position. After a transition in adding 20 lbs he made a position change from safety to LB.
Nate Dalton: 3 star, offers: Mich, OK, KY, Kansas. Another eventual starter down the road, that will be a much needed back up this year.
Raleigh Williams: 3 star, offers: Duke, Ole Miss, OK St. Kid gets mentions daily and will be used through out the year.
Derrick Graham: 3 star, offers: FL, Ga Tech, and MSST. Kid was getting lots of pub initially, but has gone through a position change to a loaded position.
Willie Sykes: 2 star, offers: Nebraska, Or St., and Wash St. Might be a redshirt because of sheer numbers ahead of him, but continues to impress.
I know I've missed a few guys like Pettaway, TJ Smith, Merrick, and Deon Stuart, that are getting good reps. But their position have good numbers. Who knows, they might get some playing time. Speaking of playing time, how many redshirts will be burned this year? 12? 14? Its not like we are hurting and need for them to play. These kids are that good.
In my following of recruiting to first year transition I don't think I can remember a season where this many kids have been mentioned on a regular basis. These 3 star guys coach BB keeps bringing in continue to impress, like they did at Wisky. Until, he proves me wrong, I'll continue to believe in his type of recruiting regardless of Rivals star rankings.
