im glad for the kid and hogs. This is not about him, it's about understanding the process.
I'm dealing with this right now with one of my kids, that's why I ask.
My understanding is no D1 or D2 school can reach out or talk to recruits until the end of their sophomore year, Unless they are on campus for a camp. They can not even send or answer an email. I was also under the impression that a college couldn't officially offer until then.
Now a recruit can reach out to coaches. And I'm sure a lot goes on over phone or text.
But is the offer to a freshman done through the coaches or aau coaches in this case?
Then technically, it's not worth much until they actually sign as a senior. There is nothing binding or in writing until signing day as a senior, right? That's why it's just called a verbal I know
Just trying to understand process, and if it's different in basketball, TIA
