sat on it a few days (months).
Never mind the incoming class. It is time to make a change with the BB team. My concerns.
--Bench coaching. You have to wonder what CMA told them during TOs? Rairly did an out of TO play work.
--Why pressure the ball if you are going to walk it up on O anyway?
--No real aggression. How do you get caught late in the shot clock with no plan on 30% of your sets?
--Pounding the ball in to MK only gets him fouled and then he misses 1 or both shots (he almost never plays through contact). Why is his shot still flat? He should have been playing the 4 on O and shooting short jumpers.
--The team was fundamentally unsound... Rebounds, FT, O sets, D, etc. Often both of our bigs were defending out near the FT line and a guard was defending a big under the basket.
I liked the idea of CMA coming back and have stuck with him for 5 years, but for me, the writing is on the wall. His teams are a reflection of his personality and that will always be the case. No insult intended, but the lack of aggressiveness, mental toughness and flexibility will keep us in the SEC celler.
I expect him to come back next year with the same Asst Coaches; the product will likely be better, but that will not be so, due to coaching.
Just my thoughts (since the Stanford game).
