OT Jet Ski questions

I'm looking to buy one. I don't really know much other than Yamaha and Sea-Doo being the most popular brands. I don't need anything fast and crazy expensive, just something to cruise around the lake on the weekends. Any suggestions on brand or a dealer? New or used? Maintenance costs?
