So...it took me since just before Christmas until now...but I finally watched the series finale!
SPOILER AHEAD!! If you haven't watched the show yet...DON'T READ any further!!

I actually liked the finale. It took me a little while to realize that as Don is there at the commune and doing the "OMMM" thing...and then the "ding" and cut to that iconic Coke commercial...that he obviously went back to NY and came up with the idea for that commercial...which is arguably one of the most memorable commercials of all time. I remember it as a kid...and remember singing along to it all the time.
I was sad that Betty got lung cancer and was going to die...but I guess it was good that they did show that with all of the smoking, there's a repercussion.
LOVE the fact that Peggy and Stan ended up together. I grew to love him (he used to live in Arkansas, btw)...and really grew to like Peggy, too. When they professed their love for one another, it completed the whole series for me. I really didn't care whatever else happened after that because at least I knew it wasn't going to end with only bad stuff.
I also grew to love Roger Sterling. He's hilarious...and actually became more and more sexy as the show went on...and lovable.
Pete...I would hate him...then like him...so I'm glad they allowed him to be likable in the end.
Joan...I'm conflicted. Part of me feels like she's a b**ch...but the way most men would never take her seriously and most women hated her because of her "assets"...I can imagine she'd have a hard shell.
I also grew to really like Sally. She became a beautiful young woman and it looks like she'll end up taking care of her little brothers...which is nice.
Betty...I really wanted to like...and I feel they really made her life miserable (cheating husband...then she gets fat...then dies of cancer)...so there's a little bit of a hole in my heart for her. I'm sad when I think of her story.
Don...what can I say? MESSED Up...but does have a heart. He just really needs some serious therapy. Other than Peggy, he can't be around women without wanting to fix them...which he then falls for them and sleeps with them...then they fall in love with him...then he breaks them and leaves them worse than he found them. Alcoholic. Cheater. Late all the time. Narcissist. But I still like him and cheer for him.
Overall...a great series. Top 10 of all time (on my list).
