For the past 14 years, I've had a chronic issue with this that muscle in my neck/shoulder area on my right side. Been pretty rough the past week. Feels like a stinger. Finally starting to get better but not anywhere close to normal. And normal for me is having a constant crick in my neck. If you and I have met in the last 14 years, I had a crick in my neck. Usually it's tolerable, but sometimes it gets severe and debilitating.
I assume this muscle is the blame, but I'm not a doctor. Feels like a pinched nerve always. Spine and ribs look good. MRI and X-rays say I'm good in those areas that they can measure.
I've had massage, physical therapy, chiropractor, x-ray and MRI. The x-ray and MRI said your back and neck look great! -Awesome news, I guess. Doesn't solve this crick. Best advice I got was from physical therapist who suggested more stretching and exercises to strengthen the area. Still, doesn't completely take care of it even when I stay on schedule with those things. I've been told no doctor would operate on it b/c it's not life-threatening or anything, just uncomfortable.
Anybody have any advice? Don't know why I've never asked anyone on the board about it. But as you can see I've tried a lot of things. I have a Tens Unit on it right now.
I'd sure love for it to be gone. I feel like it's the only real gripe I can legitimately have, so I do feel lucky, and I know it's not that big a deal compared to issues others have. But any advice on how to get rid of this crick in my neck would be awesome.
Obviously I sit at a computer a lot, and I did have a shoulder injury when I was in eighth grade that's probably partly to blame.
