Kind of surprised how little talk there is about our football team after the game on this board. I said before the game, & I hate moral victories, that if we stay within 14 points of Alabama, I will be happy (Well I lied. We stayed within two touchdowns and I'm still upset about the outcome).

But I'm trying to be optimistic on this beautiful fall morning. The fact is we took on the most physically dominant team in college football besides maybe LSU and completely shut them down for three quarters. There is something to be said about that.

Our offense struggled mightily, and that was the difference in the game. Bama's defense was just too tough. I really think in this game we would have been better off had we split 4 out wide (like we did on our very first offensive play - a completion and first down)and thrown at the whole game instead of trying to pound it inside. There was just nothing there. I think we would have had more success with short to midrange crossing routes and occasional homerun attempts to Reed (why did we stop throwing long to him after the first game?)

But overall, I'm proud of how we played and I'm still pulling for this team. I do think our OC is huting us this year, but so is losing four of our top players. Smith coached a heck of a game, though.
