Jabril Durham ... at 8-7 and 2-1 SEC, it's been a long, tough first 15 games, and there's 16 more to go in the regular season, but if you want to find the guy who leads this team, the guy who's the most consistent at BOTH ends of the floor, game-in and game-out, it's JD.
He's limited talent-wise, but he's smart, tough, and driven to make a difference in the little things. Yes, Bell and Hannahs have been really good all year scoring the ball, and MK averages a double-double, but everything runs through Durham, and because of his play at the point, I believe we are a better halfcourt team than we've been under MA.
Defesnively is the big surprise, though, because he gets steals and rebounds at key times, then he can push, and it allows guys like Bell and Hannahs to get open looks, which fuels their shooting and scoring rhythms.
Amazing to me how much development from one year to another that guys like Durham, Bell, MK, and others have shown. This is not a good basketball team relative to NCAAT-worthiness, but it's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Other than TAMU on the road, we have been oh-so close against some good teams away from home, not too far from being 11-4 or possibly even 12-3. I like this team, they are fun to watch.
