OT hernia surgery

I’m having surgery on September 25th to repair a hernia. Never had it done before but I’ve heard it sucks post op. Anyone ever had it to get some insight on actual recovery time and how long you waited to start back normal activities.

I’m hoping to be healed up by Halloween to deer hunt the heart of the season.
