Ive been blessed to have the opportunity to coach pretty much the same girls on a fast pitch travel team for the last several years. This weekend we enter our last year of 16U and it's bittersweet. I've coached every team my daughter has played on for the last 11 years starting with tee ball when the whole team would chase a fly ball to centerfield. This will be the only tourney she will play in this summer as she has been accepted into the Governors Scholarship Program and will spend 5 weeks of her summer at Bellarmine College. It's a big break for me as it will pay for quite a bit of her education but man I'm gonna miss her this summer. She's worked hard and deserves it.
Even though I've thiught I'd been bracing myself for her to leave the nest, I think it's gonna be tough after her senior year next year.! Just wanted to say it out loud.
