"This Arkansas team is hot and hitting on all cylinders ... offensively." He's right. We are a poor defensive team, but have had the good fortune in the early SEC slate to get a good style/personnel matchup with Vandy at home, then favorable matchups against personnel-poor MudState and Mizzou.
I'm happy with the 3-1 start, but I see a rough, rough 5-game stretch ahead to finish out January, starting in Baton Rouge this weekend. LSU doesn't scare me usually, but we really struggle to defend on the perimeter, and we are about to embark on some really talented and/or veteran backcourts starting with LSU on the road, then KY at home, then GA on the road, then home against TAMU.
If we can somehow finish those games 2-2, then beat Texas Tech at home to end the month, it would set us up nicely for a strong finish in February. We need to get better in hurry defensively, though, and that means guards getting better first at limiting dribble-penetration, and we really need a 4 who can battle smartly and help MK out inside. How do we find all that in a hurry?
