Well, it took several years, but during a dark start to our season, here is my 1,000th post. I've gone through several phases after yesterday's loss. Denial, Anger, Depression, Confusion, Frustration and now I'm trying to get back to the big picture, and a sunshine outlook that Hog Fans must develop to remain Hog Fans.
I really can't speak about any positives in yesterday's game. Forgetting about the penalties, and lack of execution, it was one of the most strange Razorback Games I've ever seen. It was just odd.
But it's time to move on. I appreciate what Rohan Gaines said during his post game interview. I think that young man gets it. But the only thing we can do now is move on. Much like the Dr Lou Holtz would say " W.I.N. Stands for What's Important Now!" The coaches and players need to adopt that mentality immediately.
We need to not only win against Texas a tech, we need to get our pride back! We need to see some Nasty! This team CAN still do it. It's Early! We have zero SEC losses. Or Wins. But it's not over. This team can still play better.
This is not probable, and I'm not predicting this, but "IF" this team somehow got hot, even with the Toledo loss, the SEC champion will be in the playoffs. That's a pipe dream at the moment. But I remember the year we lost against USC in Fayetteville. DMAC had a broke toe, Felix fumbled 17 times, and a true freshman named Mustain came in the game and after that loss, we rattled off 8 straight.
Now I'm not saying this team could do that. We don't have DMAC, Felix, Hillis, or Monk, but it "could" happen. I did not think it was going to be good after that usc game, but one game at a time and we were suddenly a very very good team.
I'm going to stay positive. I'm going to drive to Fayetteville from San Antonio to watch the Tech game. I expect to see a pissed off team with a lot to prove and I fully expect us to crush Texas Tech!
Ok, lots of sunshine for a dark message board right now. I'm not out of the emotional funk from that horrible loss, but seeing the Cowboys find a way to win. Well, it kinda got me believing again.
