In her first year as a head coach for girls HS basketball her team finished 2nd in the district with only 1 SR who only started on Sr night and had a total of 12 points on the season. 3 JRs and the rest were SO and Fr. Her starting line up was 2JR 2SO and 1 Fr.
It was a rough road with a group of young girls that have had ZERO consistency in their program (Vick is the 5th coach in 5 years). Love that she put them in position to go to state by beating their rival by 15. The girls dream didn't happen but it was just that a dream. Vick is a History teacher 1st 2nd and 3Rd but loves bball and was willing to do the job. I'll be interested to see if she choses to coach again next year. Id say she will mostly to give the girls a chance to know what it's like to be a part of a real program. Her heart is 100% in teaching so we will see. She just loves her students so much I do see her putting herself through it again.
