Do we undersign in order to reward the invited walk-ons? If so, makes good sense. Don't offer a risky recruit that will cost us number wise if they don't pan out. Allow the extra schollie's to the invited walk ons. Recruiting isn't an exact science for sure.
And, fwiw, I've watched recruiting for years. Far too many people take it personally when a kid doesn't choose Arkansas. I think it is great we were on some of the guys that were 4 stars late in the game. You gotta swing hard, sometimes you miss, sometimes you knock it out of the park!
