HawgBeat's recruiting rewind series features a look back at all of the Arkansas football recruiting classes dating back to 2002, which is as far back as the Rivals rankings go.

The series will go in order of class ranking, which spans from 61st nationally to 16th nationally. In the 11th edition of this series, we will be analyzing the 2006 recruiting class.

Head coach Houston Nutt was coming off a disappointing 2005 season that saw the Razorbacks finish 4-7 overall (2-6 SEC). Despite that, Nutt raked in the No. 27 overall recruiting class according to Rivals.

This class - the 10th best in the SEC - included standout players like Demarcus Love, Adrian Davis, Wendel Davis and more. Matt Hewitt, Adrian Davis, Wendel Davis, Jerell Norton, Malcolm Sheppard and Chris Wade all saw playing time during their freshmen seasons.

Six of the 26 signees ened up transferring out of the program, one of which was Mitch Mustain, a five-star quarterback prospect from Springdale, who is the highest ranked high school recruit Arkansas has landed in the Rivals era.

The most heralded member of the "Springdale Five" under Gus Malzahn at Springdale High, Mustain turned town Notre Dame, Tennessee and Alabama for the home-state Hogs. In his freshman season, he started eight games during Arkansas' 10-game winning streak but was eventually benched and replaced by Casey Dick. This led to his transfer to Southern California, where he amassed 505 passing yards and three touchdowns in two seasons.

Below is a look at all 23 commits from the 2006 class, the MVP of the class, who transferred out and where each ended up.
