  • Practice started at 2:40 p.m., and the scrimmage began at 3:05 p.m. The Hogs ran 122 plays all total.
  • D.J. Dean was hurt in the scrimmage but returned. Jonathan Williams was hurt (foot/ankle) but did not return. Neither injury is considered serious.
  • Most of the scrimmage work saw the No. 1 offense against the No. 1 defense and so on, but the No. 2 offense did get some work in goal line against the No. 1 defense.
  • After they ran 122 scrimmage plays, they finished with some virtual reality filming.
  • Breakdown of big plays, player analysis, third downs and more coming soon!

    Notes from Bielema's Post-Scrimmage Presser
  • Bielema said the first half he might have monopolized them too much, but they worked on several situations. The offense started playing better once they did more 'move the ball' in the second half of the scrimmage.
  • Bielema thinks the depth they have on the defensive line is going to be a highlight of the team.
  • One thing that's hurt Brandon Allen a little is he's throwing to so many wide receivers. They'll start to narrow it down this coming week. They're trying to bring it down to six receivers with the starting group.
  • Austin Cantrell was probably half speed today. He hurt his ankle the other day and they decided to let him go still.
  • Keon Hatcher bruised the front of his shoulder the other day in contact with D.J. Dean. He'll be full go on Monday.
  • Brandon Lewis is at about 90 percent, and his quad strength isn't quite healed up enough.
  • Regarding a pick-six by Pulley, Bielema said the ball floated on Austin Allen.
  • Bielema said 'I said it when I signed him,' that Dre Greenlaw is a classic Arkansas story. He had to bring him in and just tell him 'look, you're going to play linebacker,' not safety. He calls Greenlaw 'the prince of Fayetteville.'
  • Bielema said Brandon Allen has had some really impressive days, but today wasn't his best. He also said they tell the players to stay away from the green jersey, but he got some pressure in his face today and it was probably really good for him.
  • Of the players carrying the mattress around on Thursday, Alex Collins, Cornelius Floyd and JoJo Robinson, all three guys were late by 30 seconds to practice. Bielema said he was just looking for something to make them look stupid, and there was a big wet mattress.
  • Bielema said Wednesday's practice under the lights was great, but Thursday's was slow-starting. The three guys being late started things off with a bad taste in his mouth. Bielema said you can't go back and repeat any Saturdays in the fall, but they can repeat practice, and that's what they did on Friday.
  • Bielema said the depth at defensive line is unlike anything he's had in his coaching career.
  • Josh Williams played today but has had a lot of swelling on his wrist that he injured on Friday.
  • Bielema said if he's had to put someone back there right now, Alex Collins would probably be it. Keon Hatcher will probably be in there. JoJo Robinson, Jared Collins and some others have a chance. They've been focusing a lot on coverage and blocking, and they'll start piecing things together more this week.
