over the last three seasons which is a poor sample size I do realize, but it has shown a trend. Season one we started off ok against FCS schools, BA gets injured and the wheels fall off and we go a glorious 4-12/0-8.
Season two we have no serious injuries to start the season, and gain Tretola in the off season, who has a fun play which somewhat defines our season. We lost to Bama by one, take several teams to the brink, have a pretty salty D, and end the season on a high note thinking we are getting way better and finally seeing the smoke from the dumpster fire settle. Now we are in season three. We start the season, at least in my mind with some questions on D with flowers, philon, spaight, Mitchell all big players for us on the field gone. We take what the coaching staff who seemed to have our full trust at their word, our D will be just as good if not better. Well as the great trash TV host Maury povich says "and the lie detector found that was a lie." We start the season on a small heart wrenching event with JWill going down. Our coaches say we are good, we are deep enough at RB to cover this. Again Maury pops up "and the lie detector found that was a lie." So far this season with JWill injury and the on field action we are repeating season one events. With the added injuries to our already insulted season we appear to be insuring we follow season two excitement with reversion to season one out come, if we are lucky. We have one game left that seems winnable UT Martin, but even that game at this second seems in jeopardy. We are looking at a very likely 2-12/0-8 season. What team in history is worse season three then season one?
Only hope we have to see any, I mean any slight sliver lining is if this season forces HH, Collins, Kirkland, Skipper, and others to not have a reasonable draft ability and JWill feels guilty enough and feels enough pitty on our poor Hog nation to return for his 5th year redshirt senior season.
Edit to say I am hoping we get some recruits this year that help us next year. We are on to a good start with Guidry, Agim, Capps, and others. Now we need more O-line, LB and RB depth.
