SMU (26-6) won the AAC outright at 15-3 in the regular season, and the Mustangs defeated Temple today in the AACT semis, and they'll face the UConn-Tulsa winner in tomorrow's AACT title game. SMU is currently No. 20 in the human polls, and RPi No. 13.

Dayton finished second at 13-5 in the A-10, a game behind No. 24 Davidson, but by virtue of beating Rhode Island in today's A-10 tourney semis coupled with Davidson's loss to VCU in the other tourney semifinal, Dayton has tied Davidson for the best W-L record against A-10 teams at 15-5, and the Flyers own the best overall record now from the A-10 at 25-7. A win over VCU in the tourney finals tomorrow would move Dayton back into the Top 25 in the human polls, and would probably boost them back into the RPI Top 25.. The Flyers are RPI No. 29.

I think the strong conference-tourney efforts by these teams, following strong regular seasons, helps solidify Arkansas's claim for a top 5 seed for the NCAAT.

Iona, 26-8, won the MAAC regular-season title with a 17-3 league mark, but lost to Manhattan in the MAAC tournament title game earlier in the week. Though the Gaels are headed to the NIT as a result, they are currently ranked No. 51 in the RPI, so it's a respectable non-con win on the Hogs' resume..
