The high school football season is here for much of the country, and several Arkansas commits put up some crazy stat lines in their season openers over the weekend.
Right now, Arkansas has 22 commits in the class of 2025, which ranks No. 27 nationally. The most recent commit is four-star defensive tackle Kevin Oatis, who went public with his decision Friday afternoon.
Inside the state, three-star quarterback Grayson Wilson led the Conway Wampus Cats to a 42-21 beatdown of Jonesboro on Friday night. Wilson was pulled from the game after the Cats led 42-7 midway through the third quarter.
Two Arkansas commits headed out of the state Saturday, as Little Rock Parkview traveled to Texas to take on Melissa High School, which finished with a 10-2 record in Texas 5A Division II last year.
Quarterback Quentin Murphy — who is expected to play wide receiver at Arkansas — and running back Cameron Settles came away with a 27-20 win.
The Razorbacks also have a commitment out of the junior college ranks in defensive back Shannon Blair Jr. from East Mississippi Community College. EMCC lost to Mississippi Gulf Coast CC, 34-28 Thursday, but Blair had a great day with 10 tackles and three pass breakups.
