Human psychology, especially of college football fans, astounds me. We lose a game ( sure it was to a team with less talent that we should have beaten by 20+ points per Vegas, and I'm as sick about it as anyone), but it's one game. As the old saying goes, things are usually not as bad not as good as they appear when you're in the middle of them.
Let's take a closer look at all of the mistakes:
snap over punter's head for short field and TD;
Missed FG;
Dropped pass by great WR Hatcher that may have scored;
Holding call to negate a TD;
Hollister falls down for no reason on a catch that would definitely got us in FG range - maybe scores;
Run the ball to the goal line, but holding on Henry moves us to 14 yd line;
Hatcher slips on his route, so pass is intercepted in endzone
I'm probably forgetting something. In addition to these mistakes, we need to get our running game fixed, but I'm confident we will.
We out gained Toledo 550-350 roughly and dominated TOP. #6 Auburn was out gained by Jacksonville St who had over 430 total yards. I watched it, and Jax St could have - maybe should have - won that game. They're an FCS team! Everyone on here says we are bad now and CBB is the next HDN based on 1 game.
In looking at the whole body of work, there are measurable things that are trending upward that show our program is getting better with CBB. He does some stuff that I don't like (talks too much for example), but he's laying out a good plan. I'm not going to jump off the ledge and miss it.
