Coming out of the dead period, Mississippi State hosted a big weekend of official visitors. One of those recruits was Meridian (Miss.) defensive tackle Raekwon Davis.
Davis, who was committed to Alabama, flipped his commitment to Mississippi State during his official visit.
The four-star recruit was a longtime Alabama pledge, but the MSU kept Davis as a big priority in their 2016 class.
Davis is Mississippi State's 16th commit of the 2016 class. The Bulldogs will look to close on a few other big time in-state prospects like A.J. Brown, Jeffery Simmons, and Kobe Jones down the stretch towards National Signing Day.
Davis is rated as the No. 103 overall player in the nation. He is the 9th rated defensive tackle and the No. 4 overall player in the state of Mississippi.
