Just a few notes for Sunday afternoon:
- Arkansas coaches Bret Bielema and Barry Lunney Jr. hit the road following Thursday's game and saw quarterback Gerry Bohanon of Earle on Friday. I believe they also watched Jonesboro offensive linemen Noah Gatlin (Arkansas commit) and Darius Thomas last Friday night.
- As of today, linebacker commit Bumper Pool is the only official visitor for this weekend's game against TCU. They're expecting a good crowd of unofficial recruits.
- Arkansas' staff will hit the road next Sunday following the TCU game and spend the bye week checking on committed kids and a few others left on the board.
- I watched Rison at Fordyce last Friday night and liked what I saw from 2018 defensive lineman Billy Ferrell. I think he could improve his conditioning quite a bit, but he made a bunch of plays and it's obvious he's got loads of athleticism for a 6-2, 330-pound guy.
I was really impressed with 2019 athlete Malik Chavis of Rison. He plays running back and safety for the Wildcats, who beat the Redbugs, 23-6. Chavis attended Arkansas' camp this summer and checked in at 6-0 7/8, 178 and ran forty times of 4.39 and 4.48. Good kid, 3.5 GPA.
- The Razorbacks have put out a couple of new offers since the evaluation period began:
2019 RB Derrian Brown
2019 S Daxton Hill
- 2019 DE Collin Clay said he'll be in Fayetteville for this weekend's game.
